OceanFest 2026
OceanFest has long been a cherished Independence Day tradition in Long Branch, bringing together families, friends, visitors, and our local community to celebrate on one of New Jersey's most beautiful beaches.
This year carried even greater significance as communities across the country celebrated America's 250th Anniversary. Despite the blistering summer heat, tens of thousands of people spent the day along the Long Branch beachfront, enjoying everything OceanFest had to offer while celebrating our nation's history and the community we call home.
OceanFest once again offered something for all ages. From the sand sculptures and Uncle Sam on stilts to children's rides, live music throughout the day, and a fantastic variety of food and desserts from our participating food trucks, there was something around every corner. Many also gathered to enjoy the World Cup on the big screen with the beach as the backdrop.
This year marked the 3rd Annual WindMill Hot Dog Eating Contest. With 10 competitors ready to chow down, the crowd was treated to plenty of entertainment. But in the end, there could only be one winner. Congratulations to Shaun Connelly! A special thank you to WindMill Hot Dogs and Press Communications for generously donating this year's prizes.
As the sun began to set, the beachfront came alive with an atmosphere that reminded us why OceanFest has remained such a special tradition for so many years.
As Executive Director, it was a privilege to once again help lead OceanFest. I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who played a part in making the day possible. Events of this size are only successful because of the dedication of so many people working together behind the scenes.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors and community partners. Thank you to the City of Long Branch, RWJBarnabas Health/Monmouth Medical Center, DCH Ford of Eatontown, DCH Kay Honda, Monmouth University, Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Pier Village, Monmouth County Tourism, New Jersey Lottery, The Katz Team, Press Communications, LeafHome, Sticky Fingers BBQ, Sweet Baby Ray's, and WindMill for believing in OceanFest and helping us continue this Long Branch tradition.
I'd also like to thank our OceanFest Committee, Board of Directors, volunteers, food vendors, entertainers, Police, Fire, EMS, Department of Public Works, Recreation Department, and the many individuals working behind the scenes whose efforts made the day possible.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us on July 4th. Your support, enthusiasm, and community spirit are what continue to make OceanFest one of Long Branch's most anticipated annual traditions.
