City of Long Branch Holiday Toy Drive: The Chamber is working with the City of Long Branch to promote the City’s Holiday Toy Drive.  Toys for children ages newborn to 10 years old can be dropped off at the Long Branch Recreation Office, 231 Wilbur Ray Ave. and at the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce Office, 228 Broadway from 9am to 4:30pm. Toys will be given out at the Drive-By Annual Holiday Party in December. Date and registration to follow.

New Jersey Economic Development Authority:  The Chamber receive $5,000.00 grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority Phase 3.  We have also applied for the Monmouth County CARES Grant.  We will advise you how that application develops.  

Building Committee Report:  In the past newsletters we explained the need to make improvements here at the Chamber office.  The architect is now taking bids for the repairs on the building from contractors.  The board has also agreed to work with 1st Constitution Bank for a mortgage.  We are in the process of working on both, finding a contractor, and securing a mortgage.  We will keep you posted on these as they develop.

Breakfast Club Meeting:  Our next Breakfast Club Meeting is on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.  Because of the spike in COVID-19 numbers we are resuming the Zoom Breakfast Club meeting.  The speaker is Tonya Garcia, and Lisa Kelly of the Long Branch Free Public Library.  in Long Branch.   RSVP: call 732-222-0400 or email info@longbranchchamber.org

December Networking Event: Because of COVID-19 and new regulations, we will be hosting our December Networking Event by Zoom.  It is also an Ugly Sweater Party.  So wear your ugly holiday sweater, provide your own snacks and drinks and zoom in for some holiday cheer and chamber networking.  Our special guest will be the Dining Room Instructor from the Culinary Education Center who will demonstrate 2 holiday drinks and a special dessert.  RSVP: 732-222-0400 or email info@longbranchchamber.org

86th Annual Business Awards Dinner: The Awards Dinner originally scheduled for March 20, 2020 then moved to May, then to October 2020 has now been rescheduled again to Thursday, March 11, 2021.  We all hope this is the final date for the dinner.  Our honorees are Esther Cohen, Managing Partner of Cedars & Beeches Inn and Tonya Garcia, Director of the Long Branch Free Public Library will receive the Louis G Libutti Community Service Award.  Avery Grant will receive the Humanitarian Award.  Please confirm with the chamber office if you are still planning on attending.  If you wish to buy a ticket for the dinner, the price for the awards dinner is $115.00.  Call 732-222-0400 or email the office at info@longbranchchamber.org for more info.

Long Branch Restaurants Open with Inside and Outside Seating:  Gov. Murphy has allowed inside seating of restaurants to 25% of the inside capacity.  Please follow all CDC protocols with face covering/masks and social distancing.  Thank you for supporting our restaurant businesses enjoying the outside dinning and sitting inside especially when the weather is starting to change.
